Может кто знает: какое понятие вкладывается в термин crew members на воздушном судне? Тем более - на военном, где часть лиц на борту его покидает для выполнения наземной операции.
Может ли на вертолете быть 5 crew members? Другое дело на заправщике. ИМХО.

Наиболее точный перевод слова aircraft - воздушное судно. То есть, первоначальное сообщение от НАТО с этим словом нашими журналистами было неверно истолковано.Еще не определились, не то самолет, не то вертолет...

Для конкретности:"Как следует из нового сообщения Европейского командования вооруженных сил США (USEUCOM), катастрофу потерпел самолет - топливозаправщик, погиб экипаж самолета."
Если было сказано, как сказано здесь, то вряд ли топливозаправщиком мог быть вертолет да еще со спецназом. Так что здесь толование было адекватное. ИМХО.
В той статье даже был анализ возможной причины, связанной с топливной системой нового самолета, проблемы с которой были зафиксированы и ранее.
